Breaking My Hymen Myself

I really don't want to have to deal with the whole gross bloody painful mess the first time I have sex so.. what can I do to break my hymen myself? I've tried fingering myself, but I felt no pain and there was no blood. Maybe my tampon broke it.. but I've never felt any pain so I don't know. Ugh. This is so frustrating. Help.
