Posted: 08/27/05 - 02:00 Post subject: Breast implants because of uneven breasts!? |
|
|
Hello. I'm 20 year old female and I have one problem to discuss with you. You see, about a year ago I have noticed that my breast are not have same size. They are totally uneven.
This wasn’t so noticeable earlier because my breast was small but now, you can't not to notice this.
So, I was thinking about breast implants. I haven’t talk about this with parents because they would kill if they found out anything about this.
What should I do? Did anyone have any experience with these implants and are they expensive?
Thanks!

I don’t know what to say about this but to try to talk you out of this creasy idea. You must understand that no one of us is perfect and that probably there is no single woman with 100% symmetric breasts.
As I see, you are very young and your breasts are still developing and growing. You need to really think about this.
One another thing- these implants are very expensive and I really doubt you could pay them of your pocket money. So you will have to tell your parents all about your attentions.
Your immune system is very strong now because you are in your prime years and there is a big chance your body could fight against these implants so operation could fail.

| I know how everyone says that no ones breasts are perfectly symetrical, but mine are extremely asymetrical. The left side is a 36C and the right is only an A. I hide it by putting inserts in my bra, but that only helps when I am wearing tshirts. In the summer, I do not wear bathing suits because of this, and I feel embarressed around my boyfriend, even thoughhe says that it does not bother him. I am seriously considering implants this summer. I was thinking of having the larger breast reduced at first, but having an implant put into the smaller on seems like a better choice because to the rest of the world it looks like it was always that size with the inserts in my bra and hopefully no one notices that there is any change. I disagree with plastic surgery when people get large breasts so they can feel more attractive and sexy, but I just want to feel normal and not feel so self concious about my breasts all the time. If it bothers you as much as it bothers me, having surgery is a good choice. I have looked at various methods of how they put implants in and lift the breast, and the one with the least scaring seems to be when they do it through the nipple. I hope this helps you at least a bit. Just knowing I am not the only one with this problem makes it a little easier to deal with. |

As a growing woman, I also had very uneven breasts. From the begining I noticed the unevenness. By age 11 I had a 2 cup size difference and by age 14 a 3 cup size difference. I was convinced I was not going to get any bigger and suggested to my parents go get an implant. At age 15 I went to the plastic surgen and he said it would be best to wait until age 16. So 6 months after my 16th birthday I got an my implant. Now I am 20 and am uneven again. Although it is only by one cup size, I wish I would have waited until I was done growing.
Take this with a grain of salt...do as you wish, but keep in mind surgery is very expensive...even though it is only on one side. You'd think we would get half price or something. If you have an accepting boyfriend, it's not worth the change. The pain is not worth it, and the surgery came out of my college funding...big mistake. Learn to love your body, as long as the difference isn't to big. |

| I'm 26 years old and my breasts are also extremely asymmetrical - a D cup versus an A cup. It's been this way for a very long time; and I've thought long and hard about having them altered. When I was 16 I saw a plastic surgeon who was keen on doing the surgery then. I now know it was the right choice NOT to have the surgery. My gynecologist told me to wait until the mid-20s to really start thinking seriously about having surgery. By then, the breasts would be mature. I would recommend the same thing to you. |

| This is terrible. I am 16 and have one tubular breast and one perfectly normal one. Finding a bra is an absolutely horrendous occasion, as one fits perfectly and the other, well, is small and grose. I can't imagine waiting four years to have this corrected, but there's no other way! |

Im 19 and mine are uneven as well. Its hard to tell exactly how much because different bras fit me with different sizes. Im thinking one's about a B /C depending, and the other an A/B depending. I think it just annoys me more because i can notice that one doesnt fill my bra properly.
I must admit that it plays on my mind a bit. What with clothes and what does and doesnt accentuate it (any comments on that? I would be curious to know if people have found styles that minimise the appearance?)
Another question i had (Im glad i found this forum..) is, just based on a theory that i have, does anyone that has uneven breasts also have a scoliosis?
In conclusion.. it may not be as noticable as you think (although i dont go by this!) I just dont like the thought of surgery. Maybe it just helps to know that other people understand. |

I'm 18, 5' 11" I grew up my left breast always a step ahead of my right. And the reason why I'm replying to your post is because I had a semi degree of scoliosis. Back when I was 14 I got exrays of my back, my spine wasn't straight but wasn't severe to where I was to undergo any physical help.
I know when I lie on my right side on the ground it feels as if it's less comfortable and my balance is not a easy vs. lieing on my left side.
But I wonder if there is a connection between the two myself. My breast are like yours in a way my left depending on the braw b/c my right a/b. I think I'll wait tell I'm 20 to see if my right breast will fill in.
I believe there is no 100% symetrical breast but I do believe in a person wanting to feel 'normal'. In their own 'normal' if anything.

I am 24 years old and have both scoliosis and significant breast asymmetry. I believe very much that they are related, whether it has to do with the xrays I have had, or else I read somewhere that the mammary artery of those with scoliosis is sometimes constricted due to the curve decreasing blood flow to one breast therefore resulting in asymmetry. I am currently researching having a breast surgery to correct this issue and am trying to dig up as much info as I can, so I can apply for coverage. It is so expensive, but I am sick of feeling lopsided from both the front and back. Just relieved to find some people out there that can relate. |
