Many British adults would rather suffer from bad health than got off their backs and did some exercise. In a survey conducted only 38% reported that they would exercise if their life depended on it.

A healthy weight still doesn’t mean health, certain amount of activity needs to be added, researchers advise.

However, the idea doesn’t seem to bother British adults who were rather go for a brisk walk than engage in activities such as going to the gym, swimming or dancing. Few UK adults find exercise enjoyable.

The greatest trigger for Brits seems to be the desire to change their body shapes. This is especially the case for younger adults who would do more exercise if they an unflattering photo of themselves. Only 7% of women and 13% of men reported their main motivation for doing exercise being a healthy heart.

Although every 15 minutes a person dies in UK from not doing enough exercise, still just one third does the recommended amount of exercise.

A new TV advert will be launched and run on all major channels for three weeks to encourage people to move their bodies more. For many people, exercise has become an ugly word something to be avoided at all costs. The TV ad will try to show people that being very important for the good health, exercise could be fun too.
