Hi, I am a 20 year old virgin, on the pill, and just this month I had my normal period followed by brown discharge. This was normal, however, the brown discharge did not stop (which is not normal)! It's been going on for about a month now and my normal period is supposed to begin this week sometime. I was really stressed this semester from some insane college engineering classes, so I was wondering if the pill or the stress could have caused this? There isn't any pain. Every once and a while some abdominal pain, but I just took it to be ovulation. My period and the discharge were extremely clumpy (more so than usual) this time. Also, on the same birth control pills I had tunnel vision for a day on the same day of my cycle in december and january. Again stress or the pills or something more serious?

I did go to see my doctor, but I am leaving for London on Friday and the results of a pelvic ultrasound my doc ordered might not be in as of Friday. I was just wondering if anybody has experienced this before? Thanks!

I had the same problem and it turned out I had polyps in my uterus which were continuing to bleed after my period was finished. Polyps are similiar to skintags as they are generally non harmfull growths and can be removed easily. I had to go in for a D&C to have them removed and have not had a similiar problem since.

As for the tunnel vision - I also had that problem while I was on birth control but for me it was a precursor to a migraine and had to stop taking the pill as the migraines were interfering with my daily activities every month.

I hope you have received your results and everything is fine. Best of Luck.
