Brown discharge and irregular periods

Ok, so I'm 17 years old, an dI am noticing this brown discharge. And I haven't had my period yet, today is August 21st and my last period was July 8th, I have always had an irrgular period, and normally I wouldn't worry but I have had sex after my july period, it was protected and done it 2 times. So what does this mean?

Many women experience a brownish discharge in the very beginning of their periods. (it IS actually menstral fluid) If you dont get your period within a few days of seeing the brownish discharge I would recommend getting a home pregnancy test or even going to the doctor, just to be sure you arent pregnant!
