I have brother and I am worried about him. His hands were so strange, because it looked like his veins were bulged. I was keeping telling him to visit the doctor, but he did not want to listen. When finally I got the point, his doctor diagnosed him with some peripheral venous disease. I would like to know more about it, why he has Bulging Veins in hands.

First, I think you should know something about veins. Veins are flexible, hollow tubes with flaps inside of them, called valves. When muscles contract, these valves open. It allows blood to move through the veins. When muscles relax, the valves close, keeping blood flowing in one direction through the veins. If these valves inside veins are having damage, the valves may not close completely. This allows blood to flow in both directions, so when muscles relax, the valves inside the damaged veins will not be able to hold the blood. This can cause pooling of blood or swelling in the veins, so the veins bulge and appear as ropes under the skin. This is probably reason of your brother’s Bulging Veins in hands. Then blood begins to move more slowly through the veins, so it may stick to the sides of the vessel walls and blood clots can form.
