Bump on chest bone after surgery

Recently I had open heart surgery would say about 8 weeks now and only yesterday a small bump has developed on the central line down my chest and just to the left side. It is very tender and sore.
I was wonderin if it could be to do with a very bad cough i hav had recently which may have forced pressure onto the chest and caused this reaction as everytime i do cough it hurts a fair amount. Please help!
