Hi - I just visited my doctor for a bunion surgery consultation and have decided to get the procedure done in 5-6 weeks. The doctor mentioned something about using permanent screws. Does anyone have any insight about this procedure? Most people that I know who go the procedure done had removable screws inplanted. Thanks
Hi, I had a bilateral bunionectomy on July 19th. I have surgical screws right now but I also have the option to have them removed three months post-op.
When I did my research prior to my surgery, I saw that there were some people who developed infections and/or complications because of the screw. Thus, I'm definitely having them removed.
