Hi, did he consider having ulcer? He may be suffering from stomach or duodenal ulcer. It means that stomach has some sores on the lining that get inflamed and heart. Some sorts of food specially irritate ulcers, such as coffee, spicy, some beverages.... There are over the counter medicines called antacids, which are recommended for regulation of stomach acid. He may also have heartburn, or reflux, meaning that too mach stomach acid that is produced, goes back from stomach in esofageous. In this case, he needs some medicines to relax stomach and prevent reflux.
