Burning Sensation, And Difficulty In Swallowing

Hello. I'm 34 year old female and just recently I started to suffer from some problems that I have never experienced before.
You see, I have noticed my first symptoms before about a month. It started as neck lymph nodes enlargement on my neck but I didn’t pay too much attention on it. It gets worse after I eat something.
But, after day or two I started to suffer from really expressed difficulty in swallowing. Don’t get me wrong, I had sore throat before in my life, but never like this. I get sensations like I'm going to choke.
I didn’t visit any doctor over this because I was sure it will resolve by it self but it didn’t. What should I do? Could it be something serious!?

Hello. I think I could help you providing you some details about your problem. You are suffering from one condition called dysphagia and there are several things that could cause it.
Dysphagia is the medical term for difficulty in swallowing. Symptoms include a sensation of food sticking in the throat, chest pressure or burning after eating, or a feeling of choking.
In kids the most common cause is weak tongue or cheek muscles which could make it hard to move food around in the mouth for chewing. Food pieces that are too large for swallowing may enter the throat and block the passage of air. With adults, beside the viral or bacterial infection, the problem could be also inability to start the swallowing reflex because of a stroke or other nervous system disorder. Talk with your doctor over this!
