Please tell me are burning lips and gums symptom of BMS (burning mouth syndrome)? I think that I am just having allergic reaction on something but I can find out on what I am allergic off. Could the burning lips and gums be reaction on some food additive? I don’t remember I ate something that I am not eating usually. Can you please tell me what BMS symptoms are and what causes this burning in my lips and gums?

BMS is a very complex condition and there are varieties of thing that can be cause, starting from allergic reaction that you are suspecting on, psychological factor, nutritional deficiencies, irritated dentures, neuropathy, certain medication…etc. The main symptom is burning sensation of lips and gums tongue and throat too, so it very possible that you are having BMS, but treatment is very individual and you should seek for professional help.
