Burning pain under breast and under shoulder area

My husband has burning pain under left breast and pain below left shoulder area. He has had it for approx. 2 wks. Morphine and tylenol 3 dont help. He has a pace maker and also a nodule in left breast behind pacemaker. Because his lungs are in such bad shape they cannot operate on him. He also has high blood pressure in left lung and right side of his heart. This pain is almost unbearable for him. The doctors at VA dont know what it is. He is having a cat scan done in Sept. to see what is going on with the cancer. A biopsy has never been taken due to his lungs. An X ray a few weeks ago showed that nodule had grown just slightly in 2 yrs.
