Hi, I have anxiety disorder and was prescribed with Buspar. Earlier, I was taking Loratadine occasionally, when I needed relief from some stress. Does anybody have some experience with Buspar?

Hi, Buspar is good choice for the management of anxiety disorders. It is better than other anxiety drugs because it doesn’t produce sedation and doesn’t induce tolerance or physical dependence. Opponent to benzodiazepins it will not affect your sleep. It has major effect on serotonine. receptors. Sometimes, if I would take too much it would make me feel very dizzy and gives me a pretty bad headache. My sister was abusing this drug. She said it kicks her almost right away. Later she had complications and decided to stop. From my experience it is definitely psychoactive, but its effects are powerful and could be misused.

I was on Lorazepam for 12 years and it became worthless and I had to gradually wean off of it.

I was put on Buspar for about 8 months and it was not helpfull at all.
I had NO trouble stopping it Cold Turkey , didn't need to wean off of it.

For me it didn't help if I had a anxiety attack.
Hopefully it will help you though.

It did not sedate me , or any other strange effects.
