Are there some special recommendations for care during luteal phase of pregnancy? I had ovulation 8 days ago and did urine test yesterday. Was so happy to see it was positive! So now am in luteal phase and should I do something? I’ve heard something about luteal phase defect. Please tell me what it means. Thanks.

Congratulation! I’m 5 months pregnant and am going to give birth to a boy. Now, there are 3 causes of luteal phase defect: poor follicle production, premature failure of corpus luteum and low progesterone levels. During luteal phase fertilized egg travels to uterus for implantation. Progesterone test can be done 7 days after ovulation to determine level of this hormone. That’s what I read recently. There are probably more things to say about luteal phase. Wish you good luck.
