Last week 5 weeks and 3 days pregnant, had bleeding went for scan and urine test, told could not see anything and urine levels (hormone) low. Gave me a miscarriage leaflet, Spent all week in tears and just getting to terms when a week later had severe abdominal pain and heavy bleeding. Rang hospital and they asked when my preg follow up was (i was not given one.) They told me to go in the morning and have blood taken, my hormone level was 757 - and imagine my shock compared to the urine sample of practically nothing. I now know the heavy bleeding im currently having is my miscarriage and not last week. Now i feel really devastated that the days after my so called miscarriage last week I smoked, drank alcohol etc. How could this happen? Going through one emotional time is something but now to go through it all again this second week is devastating. Has anyone else been in same situation? I feel really angry and upset.

Urine samples do not as accurately gauge hormone levels, and 757 is a very very very low number!! It should have been higher.

On a scan at 4-5 weeks, you will basically see nothing but a blobby shape on the screen, there is not much to see.

ALSO, it often takes a week for thebody to soemtimes naturally handle a miscarriage.
