I just had my Labiaplasty on May 17th. It is the best thing I ever did. The pain is almost nothing. I now look like I always wanted to !!!!!!!!! Here is what the Doctor told me: She said the area is all Vascular so, this is the reason for the bleeding. I followed her instructions to the T. I did the 72 hours of constant Ice on the area, didn't get up from bed except to go to the bathroom and I healed like a champ! As long as you have a good surgeon, relax, it is an easy proceedure. If you see any bleeding after a few day, (more than stains) just call the Doctor and they will instruct you further. YOU ARE GONNA LOVE THE RESULT BELIEVE ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't worry about veins, we all have the same and I got though the surgery great! Good luck !!!!!!!! |

| I got labioplasty 5 yrs ago, I wanted it for over ten years unfortunately I made the wrong decision & went with the cheapest surgeon, he had the same qualifications as the others the FRCS. He removed all my labia minora and cauterised the blood vessels with the medical equivilent to a blow torch I was in a tremendous amount of pain. He has tightened the area and there are very visable scars. I wanted 1 cm each side off and he destroyed my skin from my clitoris to my backside whatever he burnt me with I look as if I don't wash my behind and there is a long scar running up where he removed my labia and a lumpy scar on my inner vaginal wall. He destroyed the natural hood of my clitoris. There are skin tags either side and two dark lines from my anus. My sex life before this was the best in the world now, now it is ruined, sex is painful & I have no confidence in that department anymore because I hate sex & I look a sight and no skin for foreplay. He did not respect any of my wishes and I am finding it very difficult to deal with mentally. I got this done because I thought I was not normal only because I was insulted twice my boyfriends in private & public. DO NOT REMOVE YOUR LABIA :REMOVE YOUR BOYFRIEND. My life is ruined I do not leave the house & am very depressed. i have not dated for 3 yrs- I would not care if I got hit by a bus tomorrow. I would not recommend this to anybody, even if it is done correctly, there is a lot of feeling in that area & you should not mess with it ever. If anyone is thinking of doing this surgery, think again. You will miss it when it's gone. I look like a freak now and I thought I was one before- I made a BIG mistake-very difficult to live with. |

|

I visited this forum shortly before my surgery was due on the 11th Feb 08. Unfortunately after reading people's reviews on this topic i was both completely stunned to hear horrific stories and pretty relieved to hear some success stories too. I wanted to give my personal account to help people understand the recovery process as there aren’t many insights on here. So far it has been exactly 4 days after the surgery so It’s difficult to enlighten everyone perfectly until a few weeks time
My op was performed free on the NHS as my labia minora were causing me huge physical and menal discomfort since i was 16.
After surgery I was kept on the ward overnight and thought the pain was worse than I expected but it was bearable, I couldn't walk very well and noticed my outer labia/labia majora had swollen twice their size! I was regularly administered 1000mg of co-codimol which helped tremendously and sent me off to a good nights sleep
A few days on and I’ve managed to successfully master the John Wayne walk id normally practice after fake tanning myself . The painkillers are still helping and the stitches are working their magic. My labia majora are still black and blue but don't hurt thankfully, they're still swollen but no where near as much. I'm giving out tiny amounts of blood after I shower as the water softens up the dry blood around the stitched but it's nothing to worry about i'm told.
I’ll pop back after a few weeks to see how the recovery is going and how the overall ‘look’ is |

| How have you recovered? I'm 5 weeks post op and not any happier than before. I really regret doing it. How long did you have swelling and tenderness for? |

| I had the trim method. Apparently it is the most simple manner to get it done. How are you recovering?? |
