COuld Reiki hands healing make you feel dizzy?

Hello! I was yesterday on my Reiki treatment for the first time. I heard it could be very useful in treatment of back pain and muscle tension. I've had problems with my back pain for almost a year. My doctor says I should take painkillers but I think I take too much of them. I have started to feel stomach pain and I know painkillers may cause gastrointestinal problems. That is the reason why I decided to try with alternative medicine. But, I felt very dizzy after the treatment. Is this normal?

Hello! Don't worry, this is very normal. I know many people who felt dizziness as you and I know many of them who reacted completely different. It is individual. When you feel dizzy you should lie down and relax until it passes. It is very important to drink plenty of water. Reiki practitioners explain the dizziness as the reaction of your body to releasing built up toxins. Many people say that after the dizziness at first they soon start to feel a state of deep relaxation combined with feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
