My sister had survived a car accident but was left with head injury. After the surgery, she was in coma for two weeks and when she woke up; we realized that she has writing, reading and speaking problems. Doctors told us that it is most likely aphasia. Can this condition be completely cured? I am so worried for her, I wouldn’t wish for her to remain in this state.

There are different things that might lead to the brain damage that causes aphasia. Commonly, it is left part of the brain that if damaged, leads t aphasia. As for the therapy, it might take months even years before some improvement is visible. And even then, remains of aphasia will be noticeable. There are many support groups that might help her deal with emotional problems that will surely occur in time because of this condition.
