Can Axid mask a stomach malignancy?

Hi, my mother is suffering from stomach ulcer for several months. Her doctor prescribed her Axid and she feels better until she started to use this medication. Unfortunately when she visited her doctor last time, after one month use of Axid, he told her that ulcer is still there. I would like to know if Axid can mask a stomach malignancy.

Hi, I am also using Axid and my doctor told me that I have to take it 8 weeks. It means your mother is on the half way. Axid may mask malignancy but I guess that her doctor made proper examination of her stomach before he decided to prescribe this medication. I don't think you have too many reasons to worry.
