Can Buspar be used as an antidepressant

Hello, I guess I do need some help and I hope you can give me some advice. I am 47 years old and I have started having depression symptoms. I haven’t been to a doctor but I think I know a depression when I see one. So I have been thinking about the choice of medication and a friend mentioned Buspar. Can it be used as an antidepressant?

Yes it can, but is that really what you want to do? First of all, I am not sure if you can get that med without a prescription and secondly perhaps your depression might be treated in some other manner. Don’t go for the meds immediately, they will help but they also have side effect and they can complicate your life seriously. Be smart about this!
