After a winter time period I got a lot of weight. I do not know how much, but I can feel it and it is disturbing me. Since I am modern young woman, who wants to be good looking and fit, I will probably need some exercises. I was thinking about fitness. But can I go in for sports with type 1 diabetes?

You can and you should. For individuals with diabetes, exercise is useful for lowering plasma glucose (during and following exercise) and increasing insulin sensitivity. Despite its benefits, exercise presents several challenges for individual with diabetes because they lack the normal glucose control. Therefore you will be needed doctor's advice about exercising and therapy during it.
