I will travel to Africa these days. I am doing research about malaria medications. Can I take chloramphenicol (micromycetin) as an alternative medicine for malaria? I want to be prepared when I get there and that is why I need all those information. If you have any knowledge about this and you want to share it with me, be free to do it.

I think that you are doing research on wrong place. Usually local people know the best all those stuff you are asking about. Chloramphenicol is not the first line medication for malaria. Maybe you would like to try with quinine first. Or you can try to prevent disease with those lotions made against mosquito bites.
