Can Kaopectate firm up the stool?

Hi, I need to ask some rather embarrassing question. I had problems with diarrhea but I have managed to stop it. But I am still noticing that my stool is not firm. It is not like water but it is still soft. What can I do about it? I have Kaopectate, can I use it to firm up the stool?

Kaopectate is used to reduce bowel movement and to firm up the stool. This medicine is salicylate. It can decrease secretion in the digestive tract; I suppose that in that way it can firm the stool. Also you can take some fibers, it can help you in firming up the stool.

Can Kaopectate firm up the stool?
