Can a fractured skull as a child cause permanent hair loss at the site of the fracture?

As a child, a bald spot the size of a silver dollar appeard on my head (near the top on the right side). Hair never grew there. I'm 38, shaved my head 2 days ago and discovered that the bald spot is crushed in (bumpy lowered and raised portions). It clearly looks like my skull was fractured as a child. My parents said "no memory of anything ever happening to me". Can a fractured skull cause permanent loss of hair about the fracture site?
