Can adolescents use mood stabilizer drugs?

I have a very simple question for a big problem. Can adolescents use mood stabilizers drugs? My daughter is 16 years old and was diagnosed with depression and I must say that this diagnose came really hard for me, because I think I could have done more and not let this happen. So, is Prozac a good solution for her?

Well, you should not blame herself that much now. What is done is done and now you should point all your strength to help her as much as she can. Prozac is a medication that is commonly used to deal with the depression, even though if the patient is a teenager. I also assume that she will have to attend some therapy sessions. Ask the doctor in what way you can help her most and do that.
