Can an upper abdominoplasty cause permanent breathing problems

I have lost over 100lbs. have had arm lift and face lift. surgeon has told
me that he can do my lower tummy tuck with no problem., but that
if he were to tighten the upper wall to get rid of the large bulge above
my waist, that I could end up with a permanent breathing problem.
Has anyone out there experienced this. I have worked so hard and now
I am discouraged about this.
