Hi,
I just turned 36 and have high triglycerides and high cholesterol(why so high so young? - I am only slightly overweight), overall feeling of fatigue and weakness, sensitivity to cold, low body temperature (96.5 to 97 on average) normal TSH and T4 levels, chronic diarrhea, recent weight gain of 10 pounds (in one month) with increase in exercise and decrease in food intake, and all other CBC and lipid panel bloodwork is normal (although my EOS is .4, at the high end of normal and Baso is 0, low end of normal.. not sure what that means, if anything).. also, menstrual periods are 3 weeks apart on the average. I don't know if it's related but I also have occasional discharge from both breasts even though my son is now 7 years old and am no longer nursing. Any ideas? Thanks. |

About the cholesterol, that usually is more genetic than anything else...
It sounds like you are having some serious difficulties, and I think it would be best to see your doctor (if not him/her, then a specialist) to be checked out. |

| Thanks Tucker. ... an update... I had more diarrhea plus nausea all week this week, so much so that I induced vomiting on thursday just to alleviate the nausea. I went to a doctor that evening and they did blood work on me - no fever - although now my temp is 99.5, whereas it usually runs low. They found the following abnormal values in my blood work: WBC 17.9, sed rate 83, lymphs 13, platelets 419000, hematocrit 35.8. The docor diagnosed me with a bacterial stomach infection and sent me on my way with a prescript for an antibiotic and an anti-nausea. I am convinced something else is wrong. Are blood values such as those indicative of anything more serious than a bacterial infection in the stomach? Many thanks. |
