Can biopsy diagnose pulmonary amyloidosis?

I would like to hear about pulmonary amyloidosis. I know that it is a severe condition and that it might be mistakenly taken for a lung cancer. Can biopsy diagnose this condition? I need to know this because preliminary results are saying that my father has a lung cancer and I know that is a serious diagnose. For now, I just want to be sure if he has it or not.

The problem with diagnosing amyloidosis is that it is asymptomatic in most cases. With that said, you might imagine that it would be relatively hard for the doctors to determine if the patient suffers from that illness or not. I guess than that additional tests and examinations have to be done. I just hope that your father will get better, no matter from what illness he suffers.
