Can caffeine cause tinitus?

Hi. From time to time I have that ringing in my ears called tinitus. Doctor suggests me that I need to change certain things in my life which can be very important because I have tinitus. One of them is to avoid anything that has caffeine because it’s most common tinitus aggravators. Is that true?

Caffeine is one of the most common tinnitus aggravators and should be very limited. Caffeine strongly affects the loudness of tinnitus which means that caffeine will make tinnitus worse, as well as anything containing caffeine will. So, coffee, teas, caffeinated colas, and chocolate all contain significant amounts of caffeine capable of constricting blood flow to the ear. If you want to feel better and you have tinitus avoid things I mentioned.
