Can you tell me something more about decongestants? I have heard that they might be very helpful especially with running nose problems, and that is exactly what my husband suffers from. I have also heard there is a risk of side effects too. Can decongestant cause things like tinnitus? Or allergic reactions?

I think it can, but only in very rare cases and only if the amount taken is very high. This means that he should try those meds freely and if they help, stick to them. I mean, side effects are not something that happens all the time, actually they are rare (tinnitus especially) but you should be cautious, not just with decongestants, but with all medications.
