Posted: 04/29/07 - 14:37 Post subject: Can ejaculation cause urinary problems? |
|
|
Over the last year and a half I have had problems with frequent urination, sometimes 15 to 20 times per day. My primary doctor, and the urologist that he referred me to have had me tested, did not find anything wrong with me. I had two bladder ultrasounds, a digital prostate exam and a urine culture and none of these tests show a problem.
I've made the best of it for the last year and a half until this past April 6th, when an additional problem cropped up. It's normal for a man to feel the urge to urinate after a climax, but on April 6th, after masturbating, I wasn't able to completely void. I kept on feeling like I still had to go. It was a horrible feeling. Not only was I urinating frequently, now I was feeling constantly having the urge to go even after voiding. This happened right after I masturbated. I felt like this for about 10 days and then the feeling of always having the urge to void faded away, although I still was going to the restroom frequently. I had a follow up appointment with the urologist this last Friday, April 28th, and the doctor wanted me to take medication to see if this would alleviate the problem I had with the frequent urination. I told him I was more concerned about the fact that masturbating, or more specifically ejaculating and what had happened previously after I did it. He told me that it was impossible that ejaculating could be causing my problem and he told me not to worry about it. I had been feeling the urge, so when I came home from the doctor I masturbated again, and the exact same thing happened. Since then I have been feeling like I did on April 6th, the feeling of always needing to void, along with the frequent urination, but even when I do I still feel like I haven't gone. It's the most miserable feeling.
On top of this, while masturbating, I had the urge to void three times before climax and when I finally did climax it was nothing like would normally happen if a person had not masturbated for three weeks. Although I was fully erect, the ejactulation was weak, and very unfullfilling. It felt like 1/2 an orgasm. It didn't feel the way an orgasm is supposed to.
As upsetting as this is, what I'm most concerned about is that now I am back to where I was on April 6th, feeling like my bladder is full and I have to go to the restroom constantly and urinating frequently.
I have looked everywhere for information on what this could be but to no avail. None of my doctors believes that ejaculation is tied to the problem, but I know my body and I know what I'm feeling and experiencing. I am so miserable.
Do you have any ideas or suggestion on how I can remedy this?
Any help you could provide would be appreciated. |

well i don't know about you, but maybe telling you about me will help.
i recently learned how to ejaculate (i'm a girl and yes we can do it and it's fantastic) and i've had a urinary tract infection for about a month, which is about how long i've been ejaculating.
female ejaculate comes out of the urethra, but is an excretion from the female prostate, not the bladder, so female orgasms are/can be tied to our urinary tracts.
i researched why there is a correlation between me ejaculating and a UTI and apparently because of the stimulation of the urethra during sexual activity (which is normal, but occurs more frequently when one is squirting), bacteria has more of an opportunity to get into my urinary tract than usual. Perhaps you're jerking off in a different way than you usually do, a way where the head of your penis is coming into more contact with your hand or something else and it's pushing bacteria into your urethra, causing a bacterial infection
i have no idea, but maybe some of this information can help you. bladder discomfort sucks!

|

sounds like you have a UTI, there are bacterial and viral, and hope you have a bacterial. i had a viral years ago, from stupid unprotected sex, and it lasted forever -- nothing would make it go away. lots of water, cranberry juice, and distracting myself.
for some reason, i just randomly got what feels like a UTI the other night, after a night of drinking 6-7 beers. i usually wouldn't think the two are connected, but i haven't had sex in a long time or jerked off, and i hadn't really drank for months. who knows, right? am going to the doc tomorrow, hoping it's something bacterial just so i can take a pill.
as for the jerking off thing. i find that sometimes i'll have the pee thing after i jerk off, and sometimes am up a couple hours past my bedtime drinking buckets of water just to clean out the system. it usually works but is a nightmare couple of hours. my theory is that i'm either too rough or more probable, don't 'warm up' enough, meaning i go from hard to ejaculating as quickly as possible. or if i haven't jerked off enough or in a long time, sometimes it happens. my theory is it has something to do with the urethra getting disturbed, which can happen for lots of reasons, and forcing semen through it . i always remember hearing about some gland (cowper's, maybe?) that sort of 'lubes up' the urethra before you ejactulate, and i'm thinking maybe that doesn't happen with the quickie.
just some thoughts. i'd go to a doc and start drinking lots of water and taking some prostate/bladder/urethra meds. |
