Hello! I use paracetamol almost every day since my arms hurt. After taking of two 500mg tablets I don’t feel any pain at all and it is really a relief. Since I use paracetamol for a long time I don’t know if I can stop all of sudden. Maybe it would be better to lower the dosage to one tablet of 500mg and then stop after few days. Will I feel any side effects?

Hello! Paracetamol is a non-opiate analgesic usually used it short term treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever. It is not scheduled for long term use. People usually use it for few days when they get flu or cold to lower the temperature and decrease pain. It is also used at the beginning of osteoarthritis therapy, but again, not for very long period of time. When you stop taking paracetamol you will feel no effects at all since it has no addictive components. I think you should visit your doctor and discover the source of your pain and don’t take any medicine for long term without consultation with him.
