Can removal of skin tags have some consequences?

Hello, folks. My daughter is thirteen years old and during her regular medical examination, a skin tag was found. Doctor suggested her to visit a dermatologist for a removal. I would like to know whether removal of skin tags can have some consequences. I will really appreciate if someone can reply to my question. Thanks.

Hi, there. You don't need to worry a lot. Skin tags are not a major health problem. Many people don't pay attention and those tags can even disappear in time. Removal is easy and painless. As far as I know, usually there are no larger consequences. There can be if you try to remove it yourself. Some of them are bleeding or infection. Let your daughter go to a dermatologist.
