Can salmeterol increase the chance of asthma-related death?

I have heard some rumors that salmeterol can increase the chance of asthma-related death. Have you heard the same thing? I am at great concern, because I am using this medication and I am not jet prepared to die. In addition, I heard that FDA would withdraw this medication from market.

I heard the same rumors and decided to do little checking. I found some complains from patients and even contracting lawyers for prosecuting manufacturer. About the withdrawal, I found nothing. I am great concern, for the same reason you are. I am planning to see my doctor and ask for therapy changing.
