Hi, itching is very unpleasant and frustrating, the worst thing is that it makes you scratch. Medical expression for itching is pruritus. It causes discomfort and the exact cause remains unknown. In some cases it can get sever, leading to sleeplessness, anxiety and chronic fatigue. It is usually symptom in skin diseases. Urticaria- hives, varicella- chicken pox, and eczema are just a few examples of diseases with itching. Sometimes, the reason is dry skin. Especially in the winter time, and there are no visual signs of a rash. also some kidney, liver, thyroid disorders can be followed by itching.
