Can there be any side effects from medicinal herbs?

Hi, there. My grandmother is constantly telling how medicinal herbs are very useful. She offers me with them all the time. However, I would like to know if there can be any side effects from these herbs. I would really appreciate if someone could answer me this. Thank you for all your efforts.

Hi. Many people don't consider herbs as active substances. That is wrong! Herbs also contain chemicals that have a certain role in our organism. If you look it in that way, herbs can have side effects. It is especially true if you combine it with prescription drug. A friend of mine combined Valerian with prescription drugs and he experienced severe cardiac complications. If you take any herbs, you should always say that to your physician. I hope you will follow this if you start with taking herbs. Bye!
