Hi, my mother suffers from depression, and doctor prescribed her Zoloft. She already used some other medicines, but she always had some side effects or allergies. Can you tell me what are Zoloft’s side effects and are there some special warnings?

Hi, I’ve suffered from depression for several years. It’s sometimes really hard to cope with it, especially during weather changes. I am not interested in my usual activities, and I have troubles sleeping. I discovered Zoloft last month, and for this short time, it already started working. It’s still early to say if it’s going to cure my depression, but I already feel much better. Your mother shouldn’t take Zoloft within 14 days of taking any MAO inhibitor. She also shouldn’t use it if she has a kidney or liver disorder. Side effects of Zoloft are usually abdominal pain, anxiety, constipation, agitation, decreased sex drive, difficulty with ejaculation, dizziness, diarrhea or loose stools, dry mouth,… She should consult her doctor if she has any of those side effects.
