I have just found out that I am in my third week of pregnancy! I would be so happy if it was not for a fact that I am on Effexor for several months now. Now I curse my lack of strength to deal with my depression. Can you take Effexor in pregnancy? How will it affect my baby? Should I stop for now and continue after the baby is born?

As far as I know, effects of taking Effexor in pregnancy have not be studied that well. The best advice for now is to talk to your doctor and hear his opinion (perhaps another doctor and his opinion could help you more). Anyway, what is known is that if Efexor has been taken right before delivery, baby might suffer from withdrawal symptoms. Effexor appear in breast milk, so you must decide between breastfeeding and taking Effexor.
