| I would suggest for you to see an obgyn, there could be something else that is causing you not to have periods, like cysts or indometrious, if there is nothing medically wrong, they can prescribe you medication for you to start your periods, sometimes they can use birth control for a couple months and this can cause your periods to start up as well, but dont worry there are other meds, if you dont want to use birth control...Wish you lots of luck.. |

Dear Guest,
Yes you can get pregnant when you aren't having periods, because when you are that irregular you don't know when you will ovulate.
I didn't have a period for 18 months (my last was August 2005) till November 2006. I got pregnant immediately after that period however and am now 17weeks 5 days with a healthy pregnancy.
Some of the big factors in missing periods for that long, are as Indiana said, cysts or ovarian tumors (which was my case). However, things such as thyroid disorders, hormone levels, weight gain or loss, and stress or poor diet can cause it as well.
See an OBGYN, as well as a Family Doctor, because depending on what the situation is it might not just be one thing, it could be several. |
