Hi, my baby is two years old and she is having diarrhea for second day. I am pretty worried because of this as she never had diarrhea before. I was thinking to give her kaopectate but I am not really sure if I can give it to the baby. I would appreciate any suggestion. Thank you.

Hi, Kaopectate is medication which may be used in adult person because it is believed that it adsorb bacteria which cause diarrhea. Because of lost of liquids in person who has diarrhea it wouldnt be good to cause further adsorption with Kaopectate in children. Because of this Kaopectate is not recommended to be given children younger than three years.
