Can you have appendicitis while pregnant?

Hello! I am pregnant and I am concerned about getting appendicitis. Yesterday I have talked with my friends about getting appendicitis. They told me that pregnant women never get appendicitis. I assume that they just told me this because they wanted to calm down me. So, can you have appendicitis while you are pregnant? Thank you!

Hello! You should not be angry on your friends. They just want to protect you. On the other hand, you really need to know that pregnant women can get appendicitis. But, I also must tell you that every surgery during pregnancy can be fatal for unborn child, but I think that you know that already. I hope that you will not get it until you give a birth.
