Can you take Chamomile and Warfarin together?

I’m using Chamomile capsule for anxiety and sleeping problem for awhile. I’m pretty sure that it helps me and I’m planning to continue with its usage. But now doctor prescribed to me Warfarin. I’m not sure that I can mix this drug with Chamomile. Does anybody know can you take Chamomile and Warfarin together?

It’s good that you ask this before you start to use Chamomile and Warfarin together. That is not a good idea. Chamomile contains coumarin, a naturally-occurring compound with anticoagulant or blood-thinning effects. So Chamomile should not be combined with Warfarin or other medications that have the same effect, like aspirin and heparin.
