I would like to know something more about cardiac risk factors. My father has some serious heart condition. We have been apart for a long time because I did not know who my father is. Now, when I have finally found him I want to help him. Can you tell me about the risk factors which can affect my father's situation?
Cardiac risk factors can be divided in to major groups. The first group represents risk factors that cannot be controlled or modified: heredity, gender and age. The second group represents the factors that can be controlled or modified: smoking, high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, physical inactivity, stress and behavior.
