Cardio Myopathy information

I need information on what Cardiomyopathy is. My friend is only 33 years old and she was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy. She is too young to have such heart condition. Can you please tell me more, so that I can understand? I am worried about her. Thanks

Well, unlike many other forms of heart disease that affects middle-aged and older persons, certain types of cardiomopathies can, and often do, occur in the young. It is a hert muscle disease and means that her heart loses its ability to pump blood and, in some instances, heart rhythm is disturbed, leading to irregular heartbeats, or arrhythmias. But the exact cause of the muscle damage is never found.
