| Perhaps you already know this, but I’ll remind you. Semen is a white or grey liquid, emitted from the tube in the penis on ejaculation and it contains millions of spermatozoa. The majority of the volume consists of secretions of the glands in the male reproductive organs. The purpose of semen is purely for reproduction. A new baby is conceived when a woman releases a mature egg at 'ovulation' and her egg is fertilized by one of the many million sperm produced by the man. He ejaculated them during sexual intercourse. A couple of days before ovulation a woman starts to produce special, thin, slippery fertile mucous which sits in her cervix and lines her uterus and fallopian tubes. If she has sex while this mucous is present, the man's sperm can swim through the mucous, drawing the sperm up into the woman's fallopian tubes, to 'lie in waiting' for her to release an egg. So, answer to your question is YES! |
