My son has been diagnosed with a celiac disease and he is only 17 years old. What should we do now? Will that diet really help him? We have heard that there is a possibility he will develop some nervous system disorders. Is that true? Is it possible that he will have to endure this condition for the rest of his life?

Well, there is no definite cure for this condition and that certainly is the problem. Also, he will have to avoid all the food that contains gluten. And there is still a risk of getting affected by some disorders, including sporadic ataxia. Those other conditions usually happen because of the immune system which is intensively stimulated to produce antibodies because of the celiac disease and those same antibodies might affect some other parts and systems in patient’s organism.
