What are risks for developing cervical cancer? Is it related to behavior or genetics? My best friend has just been diagnosed with cervical cancer. I am 43 years old female. I am keen to know more about cervical cancer, so please help me.
Different cancers have different risk factors, but having a risk factor, or even several, do not mean that you will get the disease. Certain types of sexual behavior increase a woman's risk of getting HPV infection: having sex at an early age, many sexual partners or a partner who has had many sex partners, having sex with uncircumcised males. Other factors that can contribute to this disease are: HPV infection, smoking, BC pills, Chlamydia and family history of cervical cancer.
