What are they ? Is it a localized ansthesia or general ?

Hi,
I hv to undergo an operation to remove my uterus and i want to know which type of anesthesia will b given to me. I prefer gereral anesthesia, is it possible. i dont hv Bp, sugar. I m 40 yrs old and this will be my first surgery.
