Cervical spine stenosis and bowel problems

My father has been diagnosed with cervical spine stenosis. He is 61 years old and he has been experiencing some troubles with his neck and shoulders. In the beginning, he was complaining of some numb feeling in these areas but later he started having problems with coordination and balance. Also he started having bowel problems. Is it possible that Cervical spine stenosis and bowel problems could be connected?

Cervical spine stenosis and bowel problems are definitely connected. Loss of bladder and bowel control is not that usual but can occur as it happened to your father. This condition is caused by form changes of spinal canal due to older age. If your father has a moderate case of stenosis, it can be controlled with medicaments and specific exercises.
