I have been at dentist yesterday and this morning I was still numb and there is swelling on my cheek. I received 2 Novocain shots. The first shot gave me instant pain on cheek. There is also pain when I touch my cheek or open my mouth wide and tingling in my lower lip. Could this be effect from Novocain?
I have problems with dentists all the time, so I decide to skip anesthesia from now on. It sounds to me like your swelling on the cheek is from internal bleeding as a result of the anesthetic injection, leading to hematoma, so it may take several days for the swelling to go down.
